Job description

We are looking for an Applied AI Specialist with strong expertise in Prompt Engineering to join a leading defense organization in Tel Aviv.

This is a highly hands-on role focused on designing, building, testing, and improving interactions between users, software systems, and advanced language models.

The role can suit professionals coming from software engineering, AI Product, or Computational Linguistics, provided they have a strong understanding of how natural language translates into accurate, consistent, and reliable AI behavior.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, test, and optimize prompts for LLM-based systems Build complex prompt flows and interaction logic with language models Improve response quality, consistency, and accuracy through experimentation, evaluation, and iterative prompt engineering
• Work with structured outputs, tool/function calling, and agentic workflows Adapt language, context, and instructions to different operational and professional use cases Analyze model failures, identify recurring patterns, and develop improvement mechanisms
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, product teams, data professionals, and domain experts
• Evaluate and implement new Generative AI capabilities in existing and new systems Develop software components and integrations when required as part of broader AI solutions

Job requirements:

• Significant hands-on experience working with LLMs and Prompt Engineering
• Strong understanding of the interaction between Natural Language and AI models
• Ability to systematically design, evaluate, and improve prompts
• Hands-on experience working with LLM APIs and Generative AI tools
• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to break down complex problems into structured solutions
• Ability to work independently in a complex technological environment
• Relevant Backgrounds May Include Full Stack / Backend Developer who has transitioned into GenAI, LLMs, and Prompt Engineering AI / LLM Engineer with experience building language-model-based applications
• AI Product Manager / Product Specialist with significant hands-on work with AI models Professional with a background in Computational Linguistics / NLP and a strong technological orientation

Advantages:

• Experience with RAG, AI Agents, and Multi-Agent Systems
• Experience with Prompt Evaluation, benchmarks, or Golden Datasets
• Experience with Python, TypeScript, or Full Stack development
• Experience with Guardrails, hallucination reduction, and LLM observability Background in NLP, Computational Linguistics, or Human-Machine Interaction

Position Details:

Position within a defense organization in Tel Aviv Fully on-site position – no hybrid work Candidates must be able to successfully complete a security clearance process
