Chief Financial Officer

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to join its senior leadership team during an important phase of growth and transformation.

This role requires a finance leader who can create, implement and lead a modern financial ecosystem rather than simply manage an established finance department. The CFO will play a central role in strengthening profitability, financial discipline, cash management and business decision-making while developing the finance and credit capabilities required for future growth.

Working closely with the CEO and technology leadership, the successful candidate will establish the people, processes, systems and governance framework needed to support a rapidly scaling business.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Business & Financial Leadership

• Drive profitability and improve overall financial performance across the business.
• Analyse customer and business economics, margins, acquisition costs and operating expenditure.
• Support senior management in decisions relating to pricing, investments, growth and resource allocation.
• Act as a trusted strategic and commercial partner to the CEO.

Finance Transformation & Controls

• Establish and lead a scalable finance organisation covering financial control, planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Implement and strengthen financial policies, processes, internal controls and governance.
• Lead the implementation and effective integration of the company's ERP platform, including SAP Business One.
• Ensure high-quality reporting and maintain readiness for audits and external due diligence

Credit & Financial Solutions

• Develop the framework for customer credit and future embedded-finance initiatives.
• Establish appropriate processes for credit assessment, risk monitoring, provisioning and portfolio management.
• Work with banks, mobile network operators and other financial partners to develop financing solutions.
• Build the internal capability and team required to support the future expansion of the credit portfolio.

Technology, Data & Automation

• Partner closely with technology and product teams to integrate finance and credit requirements into the company's digital platforms.
• Develop reliable data systems to measure profitability, customer economics and credit performance.
• Drive automation of financial reporting, reconciliation and management information.
• Ensure effective integration between business platforms, ERP, payments and financial systems.

Cash, Treasury & Working Capital

• Manage liquidity, cash flow and funding requirements.
• Improve the efficiency of inventory, receivables and payables.
• Strengthen working-capital management and establish reliable cash-flow forecasting.

Governance & Strategic Contribution

• Ensure compliance with statutory, taxation, regulatory and corporate governance requirements.
• Maintain strong relationships with auditors, banks and other financial stakeholders.
• Support investor engagement, funding initiatives and strategic planning.
• Contribute actively as a member of the senior leadership team.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant is mandatory.
• Approximately 12- 18 years of post-qualification experience in progressively responsible finance leadership roles.
• Strong experience in a high-growth B2B, e-commerce, distribution or technology-enabled business.
• Experience working within a large, professionally managed organisation with exposure to Board reporting, strategic finance, treasury, funding and capital allocation.
• Demonstrated experience in building finance functions, implementing ERP systems and establishing financial controls and processes.
• Hands-on exposure to credit, lending, customer financing or financial partnerships.
• Strong understanding of profitability analysis, unit economics, working capital and cash-flow management.
• Experience in working with financial institutions and external stakeholders.
