PCB Layout Designer

Variscite is looking for an experienced PCB Layout Designer to join our Hardware team and work on complex, high-speed PCB designs.

🗝️ Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end PCB layout design from netlist to production-ready Gerber files.
• Design and route complex, high-density and multilayer PCBs using Cadence Allegro.
• Work on High-Speed designs and interfaces such as DDR, PCIe, Ethernet and USB.
• Implement layout and routing according to electrical and SI constraints defined by the Hardware engineers.
• Work with HDI technologies and Fine-Pitch BGA components.
• Work closely with Hardware engineers throughout the PCB design and development process.
• Create and maintain PCB libraries and footprints when required.
• Prepare PCB manufacturing outputs and support the transition to production.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in PCB Layout - must.
• Proven experience with High-Speed PCB design - must.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cadence Allegro PCB Editor - must.
• Experience with HDI, Fine-Pitch BGA and high-density PCB designs - must.
• Experience with High-Speed interfaces such as DDR, PCIe, Ethernet and USB. Experience with most of these interfaces is expected.
• Proven experience taking PCB designs from netlist through final Gerber files.
• Good understanding of PCB design rules, constraints and DFM considerations.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with Hardware engineers.
• Experience creating and maintaining PCB libraries and footprints - advantage.
• Experience with Altium Designer - significant advantage.
• Practical Engineering or Electrical/Electronics Engineering education - advantage, not mandatory. Relevant hands-on experience is the key consideration.
