Director of Engineering

The company integrates quantum physics, optics, mechanical engineering, advanced hardware, embedded firmware, and complex software to deliver scalable, practical quantum computing for industries such as medicine, defense, climate, and finance.

Backed by substantial venture capital funding from top-tier global funds, the company operates with an elite, multidisciplinary engineering team driving its core R&D engine in Israel.

Located in the Shfela region (walking distance from the train station and public transit), operating on a hybrid work model with 1 day WFH per week.

Role Description-

• Joining as a Director of Engineering / VP Engineering (Hardware & Systems Software), tasked with building and scaling an engineering organization while driving deep technical and system architecture.
• Recruiting, mentoring, and managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams across FPGA, Embedded Firmware, Real-Time Software, and Distributed Systems.
• Overseeing the end-to-end architecture and integration of complex digital hardware, real-time control logic, and high-throughput communication protocols with photonic/quantum hardware.
• Partnering closely with Quantum Physics, Optics, and Systems engineering leads to translate deep-tech quantum paradigms into scalable production platforms.
• Establishing engineering methodologies, hiring pipelines, and architectural standards across multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements-

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related exact science discipline – Mandatory
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Complex Real-Time Systems Development – Mandatory
• 5+ years of direct managerial experience leading engineering organizations, with proven experience recruiting and managing teams across multiple disciplines (e.g., HW/FPGA, Firmware, and Software) – Mandatory
• Proven hands-on background in FPGA Engineering (RTL design, integration, and lab debug) – Mandatory
• Strong foundational background in Digital Hardware, Embedded Firmware, and System Integration – Mandatory
• Deep expertise in Software/System Architecture for large-scale computing or distributed systems – Mandatory
• Experience with Electro-Optics, Photonics, High-Speed Data Processing, or Quantum Systems – Advantage
