We're a FinTech nonprofit with a single mission: grow giving in Israel. We bring modern digital tools to the charity sector, making it easier for donors, charities, and organizations to manage giving, campaigns, receipts, data, and donation workflows through smart technology.

We're looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join our product and engineering team and build the backend systems that power Jgive's donation, fundraising, charity, and donor-management products. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who takes real ownership of the code they ship and cares about building reliable, scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and GraphQL APIs using Ruby on Rails
• Own features end-to-end - from technical design through delivery - taking responsibility for ambiguous problems and driving them to resolution
• Contribute to frontend development in React where product work spans the full stack
• Ensure performance, security, reliability, and maintainability across the systems you own
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions, helping raise the quality bar across the team
• Partner with product and other stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, well-scoped technical solutions
• Integrate AI-powered capabilities into the platform (e.g., intelligent donation matching, automated tax-receipt handling, personalized recommendations, or smart compliance tools)
• Use AI tools daily in your workflow and help improve how the team builds software with modern tooling and AI augmentation

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building production applications with Ruby on Rails (mandatory)
• Strong command of backend engineering: API design, background processing, and writing maintainable, well-tested code
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and modern web architecture
• Production experience building applications with React
• Hands-on experience leveraging AI in real-world development workflows, with strong prompt-engineering skills (e.g., Cursor, Claude, custom agents, AI-assisted testing/CI, or building AI-powered features in production)
• Experience working in agile teams with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent English communication skills (Hebrew is a plus)
• Based in Israel and able to work a hybrid schedule (approximately 60% from our Jerusalem office)

Advantages (Nice to Have)

• Experience in fintech, SaaS, donation platforms, or tech-for-good products
• Familiarity with Israeli charity compliance, tax receipts (Section 46), or payment processing
• GraphQL experience on either or both sides of the wire
• Open-source contributions or personal projects that demonstrate strong engineering or AI workflow skills
