Role Description

As VP of Engineering at LETSGO, you'll own the entire customer-facing product engineering organization, the app, the features, and the systems that collectors touch every time they open a pack.

You'll build and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, mobile, product backend, and the services powering the user experience, and translate the product roadmap into a fast, elegant, and reliable platform. The role sits at the intersection of technology, product, and business strategy, and requires balancing shipping velocity against quality, reliability, and security.

This is not a traditional engineering management role. You won't simply maintain an existing system, you'll design and continuously evolve the product platform on which the entire user experience operates, in a fast-paced environment with direct impact on both the product and the business.

This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a product engineering organization from the ground up, with significant ownership, fast feedback loops, and direct impact on both the product and the business.

What you'll do:

- Own the entire customer-facing engineering organization, mobile, product backend, and supporting services, including hiring, team building, mentoring, and shaping the engineering culture and standards.

- Own the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the product platform, balancing scalability, reliability, security, and development velocity.

- Translate the product roadmap into actionable engineering plans, with clear priorities and realistic timelines.

- Lead development of the mobile app (Kotlin Multiplatform, Android & iOS) and the backend services powering the pack-opening, buyback, shipping, and vault experiences, ensuring high code quality, test coverage, and efficient CI/CD.

- Own the cloud infrastructure supporting the product platform, scaling, production setup, observability, and security.

- Ensure information security and regulatory compliance (KYC/AML, privacy) across the customer-facing surface, and the reliability of payment and payout flows.

- Partner closely with product, operations, and leadership to translate business goals into features that measurably improve the player experience.

- Monitor performance, availability, and infrastructure costs, and continuously improve the system as the product, demand, and user behavior evolve.

- Identify technical risks, vulnerabilities, and technical debt across the product platform, and lead prioritization to address them before they reach production.

Who you are:

- Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.

- Proven experience leading product engineering teams, including managing managers and multidisciplinary teams in a startup or high-growth environment.

- Exceptional technical depth in at least one core area, mobile, scalable product backend, or cloud infrastructure, with a strong grasp of distributed systems, REST APIs, event-driven flows, and data modeling.

- Strong hands-on experience with AWS or a similar cloud environment, including containers (Docker), Kubernetes, CI/CD, and monitoring.

- Hands-on experience with AI-driven development, and a proven ability to use AI tools effectively and drive the adoption of AI-native workflows across the engineering team.

- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to design complex systems in which product, infrastructure, security, and user experience interact.

- Ability to turn open business questions into rigorous engineering plans and practical production decisions.

- Strong product and commercial judgment, including an understanding of how technical decisions affect both user experience and business performance.

- Comfortable independently building and leading a critical engineering organization from the ground up, with the judgment to make high-impact decisions with limited oversight.

- Mentally resilient, assertive, and committed to seeing long-term initiatives through from start to finish, thrives when there's more ambiguity than process, and more ownership than guidance.

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and explain complex technical concepts clearly.

- Full proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Preferred:

- Prior experience in marketplace, gaming, or large-scale consumer platforms.

- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) or cross-platform mobile development.

- Experience with payment systems, payouts, or financial infrastructure, including KYC/AML and regulatory compliance.

- Experience building consumer-facing products at scale, with a strong sense of UX, performance, and polish.

- A strong track record of engineering excellence and leading teams that ship high-quality products fast.
