Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for an Economist / PMO / Budget Control / Financial Control professional working with Israel Railways–related and other infrastructure projects. Daily responsibilities include supporting budget planning, tracking expenditures, and preparing financial reports and forecasts for project stakeholders. The role involves monitoring contract implementation, validating invoices and bills, and assisting with wage and cost analysis for civil engineering offices. The team member will help develop and maintain project dashboards, timelines, and risk and variance reports to support PMO activities. The role also requires collaborating with internal and external partners, ensuring data quality, and presenting financial and project insights in a clear, concise manner.
Qualifications
- Strong financial analysis and control capabilities, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of project management processes, PMO methodologies, and tools for tracking schedules, risks, and deliverables in large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Experience with contract management, billing validation, and cost monitoring for engineering, construction, or transportation projects.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial or project management software; ability to work with large data sets accurately and efficiently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related quantitative field; advanced degree is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex financial and project information for non-specialist stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines across multiple parallel tasks.
- Prior experience in infrastructure, transportation, or civil engineering environments, especially with public entities such as Israel Railways, is a plus.
- High ethical standards and discretion when handling sensitive financial and contractual information.
