Software Engineering Team Lead

Job Title: Hands on Software Team Lead (AI Agents & Backend)The Project

We are building a greenfield platform from the ground up to replace a 25-year-old legacy system in the shipping and logistics industry. This isn't just a rewrite; the next-gen product will be powered by AI agents, automating the core functionality of the business.

We are looking for a hands-on Software Team Leader to head this mission-critical development team. In this role, you will balance technical leadership, tasks management and close professional mentoring. You will guide a small team of fast-learning, passionate developers while remaining deeply involved in writing code, implementing complex agentic workflows, and shaping our core infrastructure.

• Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Lead, inspire, and closely mentor a team of developers, fostering a culture of fast learning and high-quality engineering standards.
• Hands-on Development: Actively write code and build core backend services and complex AI-based workflows.
• Delivery & Collaboration: Align engineering execution with product goals, breaking down complex greenfield requirements into actionable technical milestones.

• Leadership Experience: 2+ years of experience leading a small, high-performing development team (or acting as a strong tech lead ready to step up).
• Backend Expertise: 5+ years of production-grade backend development experience with strong software engineering and architectural foundations.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience managing containerized workloads (Docker/K8s) within cloud environments (preferably Azure).
• Personality: A mentor at heart who is still a passionate "tinkerer"—someone who loves exploring cutting-edge tech independently and can guide others to do the same.
• Very nice to have: Hands-on experience designing and building AI agent workflows (ideally using LangGraph, LangChain, or other agentic frameworks).

• Hybrid: At least 2 days a week in-office.
