Engineering Manager

We are looking for a high-impact Engineering Manager (Squad Lead) to join our leadership team, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering. In this role, you will own a multi-disciplinary squad spanning Algo, Full-Stack, AIOps, QA, and Data, partnering with a Principal Product Manager to drive massive business outcomes.

A Day in the Life and how You’ll Make an Impact:

• Own End-to-End Delivery: Drive your squad's lifecycle from planning and prioritization to risk mitigation, ensuring commitments are met and quality remains non-negotiable.
• Lead and Mentor: Direct-line manage all engineers and an embedded Product Owner. Conduct meaningful 1:1s, support career growth, and foster a high-accountability team culture.
• Bridge Tech & Business: Connect engineering decisions directly to UVeye's commercial goals. Always anchor "what we build" to "why it matters to the customer."
• Provide Technical Stewardship: Partner with Principal Architects and senior engineers to offer technical guidance, evaluate trade-offs, and spot architectural risks early.
• Shape Leadership Strategy: Actively participate in high-level engineering leadership discussions regarding product roadmaps, global resourcing, and organizational strategy.

Requirements:

• Management Experience: 4+ years of engineering management experience, with a proven track record of managing other managers or team leads.
• Technical Background: 7+ years of total engineering experience with strong foundations in distributed systems, data pipelines, APIs, and production-grade software.
• Team Scope: Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary teams (Software, Data, QA, Algo) in a fast-moving, product-led startup or scale-up environment.
• Education: B.Sc. in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
