Vice President of Engineering (HW & Mechanic)

One of our clients, an innovative technology company developing advanced autonomous systems and multidisciplinary engineering platforms, is looking to hire a VP Engineering to lead a growing engineering organization focused on complex hardware and operational technologies.

The company currently has approximately 100 employees globally, with the VP Engineering leading a multidisciplinary engineering group of around 20 employees across several engineering and operational domains.

The company operates in a highly multidisciplinary environment combining robotics, aviation-related technologies, hardware, software, and real-world operational systems. It develops advanced end-to-end technology platforms and collaborates with leading global partners in a rapidly evolving market.

This is a senior leadership role with broad organizational ownership and direct impact on engineering execution, product development processes, and future scalability.

The position is based in Tel Aviv, within walking distance of a train station.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering group of approximately 20 employees

• Manage four teams: Hardware Development, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Assembly and Integration, and Field Operations supporting testing and validation activities

• Drive execution across complex multidisciplinary product development programs involving hardware, mechanics, embedded systems, integration, and operational testing

• Work closely with Product, Operations, Manufacturing, and company leadership to align engineering priorities with business goals

• Collaborate closely with U.S.-based teams and stakeholders

• Support cross-site communication, including occasional availability during U.S. working hours when needed

• Lead development processes from concept and prototyping through testing, validation, and operational deployment

• Build scalable engineering processes, organizational structure, and cross-functional collaboration

• Support rapid iteration cycles in a dynamic startup environment

• Mentor engineering managers and technical leads while maintaining high execution standards

Requirements

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations

• Experience managing groups of approximately 15–20 employees or more

• Hands-on understanding of complex multidisciplinary products involving hardware and mechanical systems

• Strong experience working with integrated systems combining engineering, operational, and field activities

• Background in robotics, aviation systems, autonomous technologies, or similar complex engineering environments — significant advantage

• Mechanical engineering background or strong mechanical domain understanding — advantage

• Experience in startup environments — advantage

• Strong people management and leadership capabilities

• Energetic, execution-driven personality with strong ownership and the ability to push teams toward ambitious goals

• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced and highly dynamic development environments
