Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Scientist role based at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot. The Scientist will design, plan, and execute research projects, including formulating hypotheses, developing experimental or computational methods, and analyzing complex data. Day-to-day activities include conducting experiments or simulations, maintaining accurate and reproducible records, and interpreting results for internal and external stakeholders. The role involves preparing manuscripts, grant applications, and conference presentations, as well as collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams within and beyond the Institute. The Scientist will also contribute to mentoring students or junior researchers, participating in seminars and group meetings, and supporting a rigorous, safe, and ethical research environment.
Qualifications

• Advanced research expertise in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related discipline), with a PhD or equivalent research experience.
• Strong methodological skills in experimental and/or computational techniques, including study design, data collection, quantitative analysis, and interpretation of results.
• Proficiency in scientific communication, including scientific writing for publications and grant proposals, as well as clear oral presentation of complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, share knowledge, and contribute to a respectful and inclusive research culture.
• Experience in mentoring or supervising students or junior staff, with a commitment to training and scientific integrity.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet research timelines while maintaining high standards of quality and reproducibility.
• Familiarity with research ethics, safety regulations, and best practices in laboratory or computational research environments.
• Fluency in English for scientific work; additional language skills and prior international or cross-cultural research experience are an advantage.
