Software Team Lead

A publicly traded defense technology company that develops advanced, AI-powered computer vision systems for autonomous aerial platforms, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and tactical combat vehicles.

Founded by experienced defense-tech entrepreneurs with a proven history of high-valuation public listings, the firm maintains extensive strategic partnerships and multi-year production contracts with prominent national and international defense bodies.

The company is located in Tel Aviv (conveniently accessible via both the train and light rail stations) and operates on a hybrid model of two days of remote work.

Key Responsibilities-

• Mentoring, building, and technically guiding an agile software engineering team to deliver mission-critical software releases.
• Designing and implementing high-efficiency backend services, real-time data pipelines, and streaming protocols utilizing Python within Linux environments.
• Optimizing machine learning models for low-power edge computing platforms, minimizing inference latency, memory allocations, and compute footprints.
• Building automated validation, orchestration, and continuous integration flows tailored for high-scale AI workloads and data-heavy system setups.
• Diagnosing and fixing low-level system bottlenecks at the intersection of operating system layers, GPU acceleration runtimes, and application logic.

Requirements-

• 7 years of professional software engineering experience specializing in heavy backend systems, low-level infrastructure, or Machine Learning Engineering (Mandatory).
• Proven experience in a formal management or technical team leadership role, with a track record of driving software delivery cycles (Mandatory).
• High-level production-grade development and performance-tuning proficiency utilizing Python (Mandatory).
• Comprehensive hands-on experience engineering within Linux environments, deploying software components to hardware, and managing runtime performance (Mandatory).
• B.Sc. or higher technical degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent quantitative discipline, OR a graduate of an elite IDF technological intelligence unit (Mandatory).
• Prior engineering experience working with computer vision models, video streaming pipelines, quantization frameworks (e.g., TensorRT), or defense-grade hardware architectures is a significant professional advantage.
