Job Description – IT Infrastructure Operations Engineer

Location: Tel Aviv, Israel

Employment Type: Full‑time | Hybrid (on‑site required)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly independent IT Infrastructure Operations Engineer to take full ownership of the physical IT infrastructure for our offices and labs in Israel.

This is not a classic IT Technician role and not a Data Center position.

This role combines hands‑on infrastructure work with project ownership, vendor management, and cross‑functional coordination within a global organization.

The successful candidate will act as the single regional owner for physical IT infrastructure, working closely with global IT, Facilities, Networking, AV, and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Office & Lab Infrastructure Projects

• Lead and support office and lab build‑out projects from an IT infrastructure perspective
• Partner with Facilities and IT stakeholders to define infrastructure requirements
• Manage low‑voltage vendors and oversee structured cabling deployments
• Participate in BOM/ROM planning and equipment procurement
• Conduct regular site walkthroughs, track progress, and report status
• Drive project close‑out documentation and handover to IT and end users

Network Rooms & Physical Infrastructure Operations

• Own day‑to‑day operations of Network Equipment Rooms and lab environments
• Perform hands‑on racking, cabling, and physical troubleshooting
• Monitor infrastructure health including power, cooling, and connectivity
• Install, configure, and monitor smart PDUs and UPS systems
• Manage capacity planning for ports, fiber, and power
• Lead and coordinate planned power shutdown events

Documentation & Asset Management

• Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure, assets, and connectivity
• Work with DCIM / CMDB tools (e.g. NetBox, Nautobot)
• Perform infrastructure audits and assess operational impact
• Ensure documentation standards and data accuracy across systems

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure, Telecom, Data Center Operations, or Low‑Voltage environments
• Strong understanding of physical IT infrastructure: networking, compute, storage, and power
• Proven hands‑on experience working in network rooms and physical environments
• Experience working independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
• High level of ownership, accountability, and problem‑solving mindset
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work across global time zones
• Willingness to be on‑site several days per week
