Data Center Engineer

Data Center Technician/Technical Site Lead L3 | Central District | $55-$61p/hour | Standard site hours (must be open to on call shifts) | 6 months (initially)

Our client is looking for a highly technical and experienced Data Center Technician to work as a Technical Site Lead. This is a hands on leadership role responsible for maintaining uptime, operational excellence and leading on site teams.

This is a contract role initially for 6 months, but with the client being such a large corporation the contract will continue being renewed and likely be indefinite, with opportunities for growth. We will support you through the onboarding process.

Standard working hours are 9am to 6pm, but if on call that rotation varies from 07:00-23:00, including weekend/holidays)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and prioritise workload across on-site technicians
• Act as the primary escalation point for L2 teams and technical issues
• Perform advanced hardware troubleshooting and component replacement (CPU, RAM, storage, PSU, etc.)
• Manage RMA processes and system provisioning (firmware, RAID, iDRAC/iLO)
• Oversee rack & stack activities and ensure data center best practices (airflow, cooling, organisation)
• Deploy, test, and manage structured cabling (fiber and copper) to a high standard

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in infrastructure/data centers
• Proven experience as a technical lead or supervisor
• Strong hands-on server hardware expertise (component-level repair)
• Understanding of data center infrastructure (PDU, UPS, airflow, cooling)

Nice to have:

• Experience with HPE, Dell, or Lenovo servers
• Exposure to GPU or HPC environments
• CDCP, CNCI, or similar certifications
• Experience with testing tools such as Fluke or OTDR

הלקוח שלנו מחפש טכנאי/ת מרכז נתונים (Data Center Technician) טכני/ת ומנוסה מאוד לתפקיד Technical Site Lead. זהו תפקיד ניהולי מעשי (Hands-On) האחראי על שמירה על זמינות המערכות (uptime), מצוינות תפעולית והובלת צוותים באתר.

מדובר בתפקיד חוזי לתקופה התחלתית של 6 חודשים, אך מאחר שהלקוח הוא תאגיד גדול מאוד, החוזה צפוי להתחדש באופן מתמשך וסביר שיהפוך לטווח ארוך ללא הגבלת זמן, עם הזדמנויות לצמיחה מקצועית. אנו נתמוך בך לאורך תהליך הקליטה (onboarding).

שעות העבודה הסטנדרטיות הן 09:00–18:00, אך במסגרת כוננויות שעות העבודה עשויות להשתנות בין 07:00–23:00, כולל סופי שבוע וחגים.

תחומי אחריות עיקריים:

• הובלה ותעדוף עומסי העבודה של הטכנאים באתר
• לשמש כנקודת ההסלמה הראשית עבור צוותי L2 ובעיות טכניות
• ביצוע פתרון תקלות מתקדם בחומרת שרתים והחלפת רכיבים (CPU, RAM, אחסון, ספקי כוח וכו’)
• ניהול תהליכי RMA והקמת מערכות (firmware, RAID, iDRAC/iLO)
• פיקוח על פעילויות Rack & Stack והבטחת עבודה לפי Best Practices במרכזי נתונים (זרימת אוויר, קירור, ארגון)
• פריסה, בדיקה וניהול של תשתיות כבילה מובנות (סיבים אופטיים ונחושת) ברמה גבוהה

דרישות:

• מעל 5 שנות ניסיון בתשתיות / מרכזי נתונים
• ניסיון מוכח כראש צוות טכני או כמפקח/ת
• מומחיות מעשית חזקה בחומרת שרתים (תיקון ברמת רכיבים)
• הבנה בתשתיות מרכזי נתונים (PDU, UPS, זרימת אוויר, קירור)

יתרון:

• ניסיון עם שרתי HPE, Dell או Lenovo
• ניסיון בסביבות GPU או HPC
• הסמכות כגון CDCP, CNCI או דומות
• ניסיון עם כלי בדיקה כגון Fluke או OTDR

Candidates will be required to go through background checks before commencing contract.
