QA Engineer (Manual & Automation)

LAYA is hiring a QA Engineer to join our R&D team and take ownership of quality across our mobile and server-side products. 

This role is hands-on, detail-oriented, and ideal for someone with a strong analytical mindset who thrives on investigating complex issues and gradually expanding into test automation.

What you'll do

• Design, write, and maintain test cases, test plans, and QA workflows in Testmo.
• Execute manual testing across mobile and server-side applications, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing
• Perform API testing with Postman and validate data integrity through MongoDB
• Investigate, reproduce, and document complex bugs end-to-end
• Monitor system behavior and debug production issues using DataDog
• Track tasks and defects through JIRA / Monday Dev in close collaboration with developers, product, and DevOps
• Gradually contribute to our automation efforts - writing and maintaining automated tests alongside the manual work
• Participate in Agile / Scrum ceremonies and contribute to a strong quality culture

Required

• 1+ years of experience in QA or a related role
• Strong mathematical and analytical mindset - ability to think in logic, edge cases, and quantitative reasoning.
• Proven experience with manual testing of mobile and server-side applications
• Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing
• Working knowledge of MongoDB (or a similar database) for test validation
• Experience with JIRA / Monday Dev, or comparable bug-tracking tools
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and reproduce complex issues
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• High motivation, self-learning ability, and adaptability to new tools and technologies
• Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar in a professional workflow
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field

Nice to have

• Experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation frameworks
• Familiarity with DataDog or other monitoring and observability tools
• Experience with Testmo or other test management platforms
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
