Senior Backend Engineer

Most security platforms drown analysts in alerts. Axia Security does the opposite. Our AI understands context, prioritizes what matters, and gives organizations real control over their sensitive data.

We're building something ambitious: a platform that combines machine learning, LLMs, and deep security engineering to deliver context-aware protection at enterprise scale. We're hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to own the systems that power it all, the APIs, infrastructure, and distributed architecture that everything else depends on.

This is a high-ownership role. You'll drive architectural decisions from day one, work directly with the founders, and ship production systems that matter.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, reliable, and secure backend services and APIs
• Drive architectural decisions and implement best practices across backend development, cloud infrastructure, and security
• Own the full development cycle from design to production, ensuring efficient and reliable releases
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and AI teams to translate complex requirements into clean technical solutions

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of backend development experience, with a proven track record building complex, distributed systems
• Hands-on expertise in Python and modern backend frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
• Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar)
• Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar)
• Solid experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including deployment and management of cloud-native applications
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)

Nice to Have

• Experience with LLM integration or AI/ML backend infrastructure
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and strategies
• Security orientation and secure coding principles
