Role Description

The Mechanical Design Team Leader role is a full-time, on-site position based Modiin, Israel. We're looking for a seasoned Mechanical Design Team Leader to drive the development of cutting-edge, high-precision mechanical systems in the electro-optical domain. Beyond leading a team, you'll serve as a technical authority — setting engineering standards, making critical design decisions, and being the go-to expert that both engineers and project teams rely on.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor a growing team of 4+ mechanical engineers across two sites (Modi'in and Omer), fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture
• Act as the technical authority for opto-mechanical and fine mechanics design — owning decisions on methodology, standards, and design approach
• Own the design of intricate, high-precision mechanical systems from concept through manufacturing
• Serve as the integration point between optical design, mechanical design, and structural/thermal analysis disciplines
• Act as a true enabler for project teams — maintaining intensive, proactive contact with project managers and multidisciplinary stakeholders to remove blockers, align priorities, and keep engineering execution on track
• Build and manage team work plans, proactively identify schedule risks, and drive execution
• Lead technical communication with manufacturing workshops, ensuring design intent is clearly translated into production

What You Bring

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from a leading university, with 10+ years of hands-on experience in opto-mechanics, or fine mechanisms design
• At least 3 years leading a team of 4 or more engineers, with a track record of delivering on time
• Recognized technical authority — someone who earns respect through expertise, not just title
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM systems
• A natural collaborator and enabler — someone project teams rely on to make things happen
• Excellent leadership instincts — you know how to motivate a team and hold the bar high without burning people out
