Development Team Leader – Software Development & Validation

We are looking for a hands-on Development Team Leader to lead our software development and validation team across native mobile apps, frontend, backend, cloud, and QA/validation.

This is a leadership role for someone who still loves building. We expect this person to spend a significant part of their time, at least 50%, writing code and contributing directly to the product, while also leading people, planning execution, improving development practices, and helping the team move fast with quality.

What you will do

• Lead the software development and validation team, including native app, frontend, backend, and validation engineers.
• Plan the team’s work, break down priorities, and drive execution from concept to release.
• Take an active part in development and contribute production code.
• Oversee and improve software development practices, including documentation, pull requests, code reviews, testing, validation, release processes, and GitHub workflows.
• Mentor engineers, support technical growth, and help build a strong engineering culture.
• Collaborate with CTO, CEO and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality features.
• Promote effective use of modern AI development tools to improve speed, quality, and engineering productivity.

Technical requirements

• Experience in native mobile app development and validation, including Android and iOS.
• Experience in cloud-based development; AWS experience is a strong advantage.
• Strong software development experience with technologies such as JavaScript, React, Flutter, Python, or similar.
• Experience with GitHub workflows, pull requests, CI/CD, and release processes.
• Experience developing software with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar.

Leadership requirements

• At least 1 year of experience technically leading a development team.
• Startup experience is a strong advantage.
• Proven experience leading, mentoring, and supporting engineers.
• Ability to plan work, create clarity, and move the team from planning to execution.
• Highly motivated, responsible, eager to learn, and committed to success.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of software development practices across frontend, backend, validation, and DevOps.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, hands-on environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup.
• B.Sc / B.A. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with security and compliance concepts such as HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, or similar.
• Experience working in healthcare, digital health, medical software, or regulated environments.
• Experience building AI-powered products or using AI tools as part of the development workflow.
