Engineering Team Leader - Store & Monetization

As a hands-on Engineering Team Lead, you will own the platform that makes this possible: the Store & Monetization stack.

Your team runs a high-scale, cloud-based, full commerce flow, from who can sell and who can buy, to what is sold and at what price, and how it’s fulfilled. You’ll lead the development of multiple core services that together form one coherent product surface that drives revenue for some of the world’s top mobile games.

In this role, you’ll combine technical depth with leadership to evolve a scalable, event-driven backend, grow a strong engineering team, and shape how Appcharge’s store and monetization platform scales.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and grow a team of talented engineers across the Store & Monetization domain. Focus on hiring, mentoring, and creating a culture of ownership, quality, and collaboration.
• Own the architecture and development of our cloud-native, low-latency, multi-service platform: clear boundaries, APIs, and event contracts; reliability, observability, and operational practices.
• Be a technical role model by contributing to critical paths, run design and code reviews, and guide architectural decisions.
• Partner with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to shape roadmaps, prioritize work, and deliver impact.
• Drive impactful execution, break down complex initiatives, unblock the team, and improve engineering workflows as the organization scales.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams or significant cross-service projects.
• 7+ years of experience building scalable backend systems (APIs, data models, integrations).
• Strong background in Node.js/Typescript, designing or evolving microservices, and working with cloud-based environments (preferably AWS).
• Familiarity with NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB), caching (e.g. Redis), and containerization/ orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with React.js/NextJS is an advantage.
• Comfortable leading by example, providing mentorship, and growing others around you.
• A pragmatic decision-maker with strong technical judgment and product thinking.
