Field Operator – Autonomous Drone Systems

WDS Technologies is a fast-growing startup developing and operating autonomous drone systems for large-scale warehouse environments.

 We are expanding our field operations team and are looking for a hands-on Field Operator to work on customer sites across Israel.

This is an operational, technical role focused on running real systems in production, working closely with our integration and development teams.

Role Description

As a Field Operator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of autonomous drone systems deployed at customer warehouses.

The work is carried out on-site, mainly during evening, night, and weekend shifts, according to scanning schedules and system activity.

Responsibilities

• Operate autonomous drone systems at customer warehouse sites
• Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks
• Monitor system behavior during scans and operations
• Download and perform initial validation of logs and telemetry
• Identify malfunctions or abnormal behavior and report clearly to the technical team
• Assist with software versions deployments and system testing
• Basic troubleshooting of hardware, software, and operational issues
• Work independently in the field while following defined procedures

Work Conditions

• Full-time position
• On-site at customer warehouses
• Shifts include:
• Evenings and nights
• Fridays and Saturdays (as needed)
• Customer sites located in the North, Center, and South – mobility is required

Requirements (Must-Have)

• Technical orientation and hands-on mindset
• Comfortable working with computers and technical systems
• Ability to work independently, responsibly, and accurately in the field
• Good communication skills and clear reporting
• Valid driver’s license – required
• Availability for night shifts and weekends – required

Advantages (Nice-to-Have)

• Technician / Practical Engineer background
• Previous experience as a technician or field operator
• Experience working with drones, robotics, or autonomous systems – strong advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Linux, including the ability to write and run simple scripts.
• Experience working in operational or production environments (warehouses, labs, industrial sites).
