Senior Server Lead / RGS Engineer

Location: Israel / Remote | Employment Type: Full-time | Reports to: CTO

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Server Lead to take ownership of a high-performance Remote Game Server (RGS) powering real-time, real-money online games. This is a senior, hands-on role where you will drive architecture, development, deployment, and scaling of the server backbone that supports live game operations.

You will collaborate closely with the CTO, game developers, and platform teams to ensure the RGS supports current production games and future integrations, including SDK support, Docker orchestration, and multi-operator distribution.

Key Responsibilities

RGS Ownership

• Own the full RGS codebase (C# / .NET) including architecture, development, testing, and deployment
• Ensure stability, performance, and uptime for live production games
• Implement game model loading, versioning, and hot-swapping
• Build and maintain the mediator layer connecting game models, wallets, clients, and player profiles
• Manage Docker-based game model orchestration with load balancing

Infrastructure & DevOps

• Deploy and manage servers across staging and production environments
• Set up monitoring, alerting, and logging for live systems
• Optimize server performance for low-latency sessions (<100ms response time)
• Oversee database operations for game state, sessions, and transactions

SDK & Integration

• Collaborate with platform teams on client-server interactions
• Ensure RGS supports third-party game SDKs
• Build APIs for game submission, validation, and deployment pipelines
• Support multi-operator integration, handling wallet, authentication, and reporting variations

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure RNG implementation and server-side game logic meet certification requirements
• Implement audit logging for financial transactions and game rounds
• Support game math verification and participate in certification processes with testing labs

Leadership

• Set technical direction for server-side architecture
• Mentor junior developers and grow the server team
• Collaborate with game developers on integration and troubleshooting
• Participate in technical demos and operator discussions

Requirements

Must Have

• 7+ years of backend/server development experience
• Expertise in C# and .NET (6+ preferred)
• Experience building and operating high-availability production systems
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, concurrency, and performance optimization
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration
• Proficiency with relational databases (MariaDB/MySQL, SQL Server)
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and real-time communication protocols (WebSocket, gRPC)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
• Excellent English communication skills
• Self-driven and able to take end-to-end ownership of a production system

Strong Plus

• Experience in iGaming or RGS environments
• Knowledge of game certification and compliance
• Understanding of slot game math (RTP, volatility, RNG)
• Experience with wallet integration and financial systems
• Multi-tenant system design experience
• Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure-as-code
• Monitoring and observability tools experience (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK)

Nice to Have

• TypeScript / Node.js experience for tooling and integrations
• Prior team leadership (2–5 people)
• Kubernetes or container orchestration experience
• Additional languages (Hebrew, Russian)
