Software Engineering Manager

We are seeking a high-velocity Backend Teach Lead leader to architect the backbone of a global, high-scale ecosystem. In this role, you will bypass legacy maintenance to lead an elite squad in building resilient, distributed systems that handle massive data throughput in real-time. Operating at the intersection of technical rigor and startup speed, you will own the technical roadmap and foster an engineering culture defined by ownership and impact.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing backend engineering team based in Kraków.
• Define technical direction and establish architectural standards for scalable, high-performance backend systems.
• Drive end-to-end technical initiatives while ensuring 24/7 production stability and reliability.
• Oversee system performance, incident response strategies, and continuous infrastructure evolution.
• Partner with global product and data teams to align backend architecture with ambitious business growth goals.
• Champion engineering excellence through rigorous best practices in coding, testing, and CI/CD.
• Cultivate a high-accountability environment focused on mission-critical execution.

Technical Requirements

• 2+ years of direct experience managing and growing engineering teams.
• 6+ years of hands-on backend development with a strong focus on system architecture.
• Expert-level proficiency in building backend services using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven track record in designing and maintaining large-scale, high-performance distributed systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English.
• A data-driven mindset with a passion for building impactful, resilient infrastructure.

Additional Assets

• Professional experience with Go.
• Previous background in Cybersecurity, high-scale SaaS, or massive data platforms.
• Experience scaling international engineering hubs or working within globally distributed teams.
