Engineering Team Leader

We are looking for an exceptional team leader who will lead a fantastic group of engineers, focusing mostly on backend solutions but also cover the infrastructure/devops and frontend solutions development. This role requires not only deep technical expertise but also strong leadership skills to mentor the team, drive high-quality standards, and ensure the scalability and stability of our technology.

Responsibilities:

• Be a hands-on, contributing at least 50% of your time to backend development.
• Own the architecture, design, and implementation of core backend services and APIs, with a focus on stability, scalability, availability, and performance.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional engineering team (backend, frontend, and DevOps), fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, clean code, and engineering excellence.
• Own and evolve the deployment infrastructure, including internal DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and production environments.
• Collaborate closely with Product and AI/Research teams to define the technical roadmap, align on requirements, and drive successful delivery of core features.
• Proactively identify, debug, and resolve complex performance, latency, reliability, and scalability issues across the production platform.
• Act as a technical point of escalation, occasionally engaging with customers or stakeholders to resolve complex issues and improve customer satisfaction.
• Lead and coordinate work with offshore development teams, ensuring alignment, quality, and timely delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience (backend or full-stack), including 2+ years in a technical leadership or team lead role.
• 4+ years of hands-on backend development experience in Python.
• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful and event-driven APIs and services.
• Solid experience with distributed systems, including messaging systems and data stores such as Kafka, Redis, and MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with containerized deployments using Kubernetes, including production-grade distribution platforms (e.g., OpenShift).

Preferred Qualifications (Advantages)

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience building or maintaining Video Management Systems (VMS) or video-centric platforms.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning / Deep Learning frameworks and tooling (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, TensorRT, CUDA/PyCUDA, OpenVINO).
• Experience with modern web development stacks (any major frontend or full-stack framework).
• Experience with on-premise deployments.
• Background in embedded systems or hardware-adjacent software development.
