Fullstack Engineering Team Lead

Role Summary:

As a Fullstack Engineering Team Lead at Ontopo, you will lead a core product team building scalable, high-performance systems for the restaurant industry. You will design and deliver end-to-end features across web and backend, integrate with third-party systems, and continuously improve performance, scalability, and code quality. You will work closely with Product, Design, Data, and Operations to turn business needs into impactful, production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a fullstack engineering team, including offshore developers, while setting and enforcing high engineering standards and code quality.
• Own the design and implementation of scalable architectures, services, and APIs in a microservices and event-driven environment.
• Remain strongly hands-on (around 50%–70% of your time) across backend and frontend codebases.
• Collaborate with Product and business stakeholders to plan, scope, and deliver roadmap items on time and with high impact.
• Drive best practices in CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, observability, and incident response for production systems.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of backend development with Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript).
• 3+ years of modern frontend development experience (Vue.js is a strong plus; React/Angular also relevant).
• 2+ years in a team lead or tech lead role, leading delivery end-to-end.
• Proven experience designing and building scalable systems and RESTful APIs.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and MongoDB.
• Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ, AWS, and containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Strong testing mindset and production-grade coding practices.
• Fluent professional English, comfortable working daily with distributed/offshore teams.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Storybook and/or design systems.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and alerting in production environments.
• Background in high-traffic or real-time systems.
