Summary

The Depth Hardware Engineering group is responsible for depth and camera modules design and manufacture, as well as all research, development, test, and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. The team is seeking a mechanical engineer with experience in designing opto-mechanical assemblies.

Description

Design of opto-mechanical assemblies and packaging in CAD.

Design of CNC, injection molded, sheet metal and other component parts.

Close interface with manufacturing partners on design for manufacturability and resolution of mechanical issues.

Authoring of detailed 3D manufacturing and inspection drawings.

Rigorous tolerance analysis of module designs and component parts.

Author clear documentation on mechanical inspection, test requirements and assembly instructions.

Occasional travel to manufacturing partners is required.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ Years relevant experience
• CAD drafting and design - experience in NX a plus
• Tolerance analysis of high complexity and precision mechanical designs
• Expert in understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Excellent documentation skills, including manufacturing and inspection drawings
• Experience in designing and manufacturing test stations and mechanical optical setups
• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering
  
  

• Experience in FEA simulations (ANSYS, ABACUS, Simulations) - a plus
• Experience with mechanical design for camera and/or optical modules for MP is a definite plus
• Proficient verbal and written English language skills, Additional languages a plus
