Let's cut to the chase. What's the job?

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Data Researcher who thrives on curiosity.

In this role, you will act as a digital detective, using data as your primary tool to investigate how attackers think and operate. You will be responsible for identifying emerging trends before they become widespread, developing novel methodologies to detect sophisticated malicious behavior, and turning complex research into the core logic that protects our users.

You will:

• Investigate large-scale datasets to uncover previously unknown attack vectors, malicious patterns, and threat actor behaviors, and develop scalable detection logic to identify threats at scale.
• Build robust pipelines and methodologies to conduct deep-dive forensic investigations of security incidents, delivering actionable insights to cross-functional teams.
• Evolve the organization’s detection capabilities by staying current with the evolving threat landscape, evaluating new analytical techniques, and documenting findings to continuously improve security outcomes.
  
  

• The Experience: 3+ years of experience in a research-heavy role, such as Threat Intelligence, Security Research, or Advanced Data Research.
• SQL as a Research Tool: Expert-level SQL (window functions, CTEs) used not just for reporting, but for exploratory data analysis and modeling complex security behaviors.
• Analytical Rigor: A proven track record of operationalizing research—taking a vague security trend and turning it into automated, high-precision detection logic.
• Cybersecurity Intuition: A deep understanding of the "why" behind attacks. You understand web-based threats, social engineering patterns, and the mechanics of online scams.
• Mindset: You are naturally curious, skeptical of "standard" solutions, and enjoy the hunt for needles in very large haystacks.
  
  

• Python for Research: Experience using Python (Pandas/NumPy) to automate your research flow or perform statistical analysis.
• Visualizing the Threat: Experience with Looker or similar tools to map out and communicate complex threat landscapes.
• Cloud & Web Expertise: Familiarity with the infrastructure of the modern web and the security challenges inherent in cloud-based consumer products.
