Head of Architecture & Innovation | ELTA Division – Detection & Interception, Israel Aerospace Industries

We are looking for a Head of Product Architecture & Innovation to join the Detection & Interception Directorate at ELTA’s site.

The position includes:

• Leading the engineering activities of multiple projects within the directorate, including advanced development programs

• Managing R&D processes and driving technological innovation across the product lines

• Leading and managing multidisciplinary engineering teams to solve complex system-level challenges

• Providing engineering leadership and support to marketing activities and technical proposals

• Supporting and leading technical bid responses and pricing proposals for external customers

• Leading and managing FRB (Failure Review Board) and FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis & Corrective Action System) committees

• Managing obsolescence engineering processes across systems and subsystems

• Continuous interface with the Israeli Ministry of Defense for initiation of new developments and budget management

• Ensuring compliance with engineering requirements across multiple complex projects

• Defining the future product roadmap of the directorate

• Building annual work plans and manpower plans to support engineering activities and project execution

What we are looking for:

Mandatory Requirements

• Israeli citizenship – required

• B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering – required

• At least 3 years of direct managerial experience leading a team of 5 employees or more – required

• At least 3 years of matrix management experience leading 5 employees or more – required

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Lead / R&D Lead / Business Project Manager – required

• At least 5 years of experience in engineering and system integration, with relevance to radar systems or complex multidisciplinary systems – required

• Proven hands-on experience in defining core engineering processes for radar or complex systems, including requirements documentation and leading engineering design reviews with customers and subcontractors

• High-level proficiency in English, including presentation, writing, and reading

• Willingness to travel abroad as part of the role

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in preparing technical responses for radar-related tenders – significant advantage

• M.Sc. in a relevant engineering field – advantage

• Knowledge in RF systems – advantage

• Knowledge in power systems and thermal / cooling systems – advantage
