Engineering Manager / Technical Lead (Hands-On)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager / Technical Lead to partner closely with the CTO and lead our core engineering team. This is a hybrid role: you will be deeply involved in architecture and hands-on coding while owning day-to-day team management, delivery, and processes.

If you enjoy switching between high-level system design, unblocking engineers, running standups, and shipping high-quality features, this role is for you.

What you'll do

• Lead a 8 people dev team.
• Own daily standups and weekly planning to keep the team aligned, focused, and unblocked.
• Collaborate with the CTO and CEO on system architecture, technical roadmap, and key design decisions.
• Stay hands-on: review PRs, pair on complex problems, and contribute to critical paths in the codebase.
• Proactively identify and resolve release blockers across engineering, product, and other stakeholders.
• Build and improve engineering processes (CI/CD, testing, code quality, documentation).
• Hire, onboard, mentor, and grow engineers; run regular 1:1s and support career development.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of development experience in modern web/backend or similar stacks.
• 1+ years leading or managing engineers (Tech Lead or Engineering Manager roles).
• Proven experience driving architecture and technical strategy on complex products.
• Strong coding skills and willingness to remain hands-on (not a “PowerPoint-only” manager).
• Experience running agile ceremonies (standups, planning, retrospectives) and managing delivery timelines.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with product, design, and leadership.
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a bias for action and unblocking others.
• Languages: Hebrew and Russian/Ukrainian is a must (Part of the team is located in Ukraine)
