The Role

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Product Development Manager / Product Manager to own the full product development lifecycle from concept to launch. This role is responsible for transforming ideas, trends, and creative direction into fully realized, production-ready products — on time, on budget, and at the highest quality standards.

You will act as the central hub between design, development, factories, operations, and logistics, ensuring seamless execution across every stage of development.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Ideation & Strategy
• Research trends, materials, and competitive products to identify new product opportunities
• Develop product ideas, references, and direction aligned with brand goals and customer needs
• Support seasonal product planning and roadmap development

• Product Development & Sampling
• Manage end-to-end product development from initial concept through final production approval
• Work directly with development teams and factories to develop prototypes
• Oversee multiple rounds of sampling to ensure design intent, construction, and quality standards are met
• Partner closely with product designers and technicians on fittings and revisions to perfect size packs
• Approve materials, trims, constructions, and finishes
• Manage color development, including lab dips and bulk color approvals
• Manage all production projects, such as direct packaging, polymailers, inserts, brochures, and special collateral, VIP boxes/mailers, etc.

• Production & QA
• Oversee production timelines and ensure readiness for bulk manufacturing
• Partner with factories and QA teams to maintain quality standards throughout production
• Resolve production issues and proactively mitigate risks

• Costing, Pricing & Negotiation
• Own product development budget, from initial development through bulk production
• Lead pricing negotiations with factories and vendors to achieve target margins without compromising quality
• Analyze material, labor, and MOQ, to optimize unit economics
• Partner with finance and operations to align product costs with margin targets and retail pricing strategy

• Operations & Logistics Coordination
• Collaborate with the operations team to place purchase orders (POs)
• Coordinate timelines for production, shipping, and delivery
• Ensure smooth handoff from development to operations and fulfillment
  

• Project Management & Documentation
• Build and maintain detailed Gantt charts for product development cycles through launch
• Create, organize, and maintain comprehensive product tech packs and documentation in shared drives

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in product development or product management within apparel, or consumer goods
• Proven experience managing overseas factories and development teams, particularly in China
• Strong understanding of garment construction, materials, fit, and production processes
• Proven experience negotiating pricing, MOQs, and payment terms with overseas factories and suppliers
• Exceptional project management and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple products and timelines simultaneously
• Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally
• Highly detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
