Head of Engineering

We are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead the engineering function at Golan Industries, part of IAI’s Military Aircraft Division.

The position includes:

• Managing and leading a team of approximately 5 engineers

• Full responsibility for R&D activities, design, and testing processes

• Providing engineering support and guidance to production and assembly lines

• Supporting marketing and sales activities from an engineering perspective

• Recruiting, onboarding, training, and mentoring new engineers

• Leading continuous improvement initiatives across workflows and interfaces

• Driving efficiency processes and technological improvements to enhance product quality

• Ensuring delivery according to work plans, with a strong focus on quality, schedules, and budgets

• Managing certification and licensing processes מול רשות התעופה האזרחית (CAA), FAA, and customers

• Planning and participating in tests in Israel and abroad

• Reporting directly to the General Manager of Golan Industries and serving as part of the company’s executive management team

• Willingness to work extended hours and travel abroad when required

What we’re looking for:

• Israeli citizenship

• Academic degree in Engineering

• At least 3 years of direct management experience leading engineering teams

• At least 3 years of hands-on mechanical design experience

• High-level English proficiency – reading, writing, and speaking

Advantages:

• Experience in the aerospace industry

• Experience with static and dynamic structural strength analyses

• Experience leading and executing tests (environmental, static, and dynamic)

• Familiarity with HYPERMESH-RADIOSS and PATRAN/NASTRAN software

Golan Industries operates as a profit and loss center within IAI’s Military Aircraft Division. The company develops, manufactures, and markets energy-absorbing seats for military and civilian aircraft, including airplanes and helicopters.

The position involves work in a high-level, multidisciplinary aerospace and defense environment.
