Senior System Administrator

About the Role

A leading defense company is looking for a professional and experienced Senior System Administrator to join a central role in our operations team. You will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and optimizing complex computing systems within an advanced, sensitive, and high-tech environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Management: Operation, maintenance, and upgrading of servers and infrastructures in both Windows and Linux environments.
• Virtualization: Managing VMware and Hyper-V infrastructures, including setup, maintenance, and backups.
• Directory Services: Managing Active Directory, GPO, DNS, and DHCP services for internal organizational communication.
• Storage & Backup: Ownership of storage systems, complex backup solutions, and replication.
• Monitoring: Real-time monitoring and troubleshooting of complex infrastructure issues.
• Cross-Team Support: Providing technical support to DevOps, R&D, and Cyber Security teams.
• Project Leadership: Leading infrastructure projects, technology upgrades, and implementing new organizational solutions.

Requirements

• Experience: 3–5 years of experience as a System Administrator in a large or defense-oriented organization.
• OS Expertise: Hands-on experience with Windows Server and Linux (RedHat/Ubuntu/Oracle).
• Virtualization: Proven experience with VMware (ESXi, vCenter) – Mandatory.
• Networking & AD: Deep understanding of Active Directory, GPO, user management, permissions, and network protocols.
• Security Clearance: Valid Security Clearance (Level 3) – Mandatory.

Advantages (Nice to Have)

• Backup Solutions: Experience with Veeam or Commvault.
• Storage: Hands-on experience with NetApp, Dell EMC, or HPE systems.
• Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with Zabbix, SolarWinds, or Nagios.
• DevOps & Automation: Basic knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and scripting (Bash/PowerShell).
• Cloud: Experience with AWS.
• Databases: Basic knowledge of SQL and MongoDB.
• Networking: Experience with Juniper (specifically routers/switches).
• Experience working in isolated (Air-gapped) environments.
