Senior Software Engineer – Chemical AI SaaS Platform

Agrematch is a data-driven biotech startup based in the Rehovot Science Park, developing a proprietary AI platform for chemical discovery. We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to help design and build our scalable SaaS platform.

About the role:

You will work across backend and frontend to develop production-grade systems that power large-scale molecular analysis. This role involves close collaboration with data scientists, DevOps, and engineers, building APIs and user-facing tools for real-world AI/ML applications in biotechnology and pharma. This is an opportunity to work on a production ML/AI system that combines cutting-edge molecular prediction models with robust API infrastructure, serving real-world chemical discovery needs across biotechnology and pharmaceutical domains.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable SaaS system architecture
• Develop backend services and APIs (Python / FastAPI)
• Build frontend features using React or similar frameworks
• Own features end-to-end, from design to production
• Deploy and scale systems using Docker, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including SaaS platforms
• Strong Python backend experience and modern frontend exposure
• Proficiency with Docker and containerized environments
• Experience with React or another modern frontend framework
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases at scale
• Solid AWS cloud experience
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Nice to have:

• Experience integrating ML/AI models into production
• Familiarity with task queue/background job systems
• Exposure to PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other ML frameworks
• Product-oriented mindset with attention to UX when building features
• Background in life sciences, biotech, or scientific computing
