Junior Data Analyst (Student)

Psifas, the National Initiative for Precision Medicine (Israel’s biobank), is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Data Analyst to play a key role in revolutionizing medical data management in Israel. This part-time position is tailored for students or individuals with a knack for meticulous investigation and validation. A strong candidate will demonstrate a genuine interest in healthcare data and possess an exceptional ability to identify and solve complex problems.

As a Junior Data Analyst, you will be a part of our data engineering team to uphold the precision and reliability of the Psifas database. This role is ideal for a student who enjoys the chase of investigation, gets a thrill from piecing together information puzzles, and is comfortable navigating the vast seas of data - all while contributing to a project with real-world impact and scope.

• Research, identify, and map medical terms to standardized vocabularies, ensuring accurate and consistent data across all systems

• Perform initial data analysis, exploring vast data sets to validate and verify various data terms
• 
  
• Utilize AWS services such as AWS Bedrock and other LLM-based tools to support data enrichment, automation, and large-scale processing
• 
  
• Employ advanced search tactics through online databases and platforms to investigate and validate medical terms
• 
  
• Assist in refining and improving data management in collaboration with other business stakeholders and team members to advance the capabilities and accuracy of our database

• A strong interest in data engineering, particularly within a medical or clinical context
• 
  
• 1 year experience with Python is a must
• 
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or other data-sheets and manipulation software
• 
  
• Effective organizational and time management skills, with the aptitude to manage tasks autonomously
• 
  
• Ability to conduct effective online research (AI, ChatGPT, Google)
• 
  
• Self-starter and independent, capable of taking ownership on mission critical tasks
• 
  
• Fluency in Hebrew and a high level of English proficiency

• Background in bioinformatics or health/biotech data, familiarity with clinical/genomic data processing and research workflows
• 
  
• Experience with healthcare data standards and privacy best practices (de-identification, consent models, data access)
