Senior Backend Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to lead the backend and data engineering of our AI team's algorithmic. You will own critical services end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to CI/CD, observability, and production reliability. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in server-side development, API integration, and modern DevOps practices. Programming language is flexible; proficiency in Python is a plus. Experience working with ROS 2 is also highly valued.

What You Will Do

• Design and maintain APIs (REST and/or gRPC)
• Integrate third-party systems .
• Own DevOps workflows: containerization, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and environment promotion strategies.
• Managing the monitoring, logging, alerting, SLOs, and capacity planning efforts.
• Mentor and lead: conduct design and code reviews, set engineering standards, and guide mid/junior engineers - after some time.
• Robotics/Edge: build and integrate backend services with ROS 2 nodes, topics, and services; design bridges between on-robot systems and cloud APIs.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience building production services.
• Expertise in server-side architecture (microservices or well-modularized monoliths), distributed systems fundamentals, and asynchronous processing.
• Strong API design & integration skills (REST/gRPC/WebSockets), including API lifecycle/versioning.
• Hands-on DevOps experience: Docker/OCI, Kubernetes or an equivalent orchestrator, CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins), infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation).
• Proficiency with at least one modern backend language.
• Strong grounding in observability (metrics, logs, traces) and production debugging.
• Strong record of driving projects from concept to production.

Preferred Qualifications

• Python proficiency (FastAPI / Flask) – strong plus.
• ROS 2 experience (rclcpp/rclpy, DDS, QoS settings, launch files, composing nodes, rosbag, ROS 2-cloud bridges).
• Experience with edge/IoT/robotics backends, real-time messaging, and over-the-air update pipelines.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, CQRS, and saga/transaction patterns.
• Familiarity with ML/analytics pipelines and data engineering workflows is a bonus.
