Software Engineer Team Lead

As a Software Engineering Team Lead for JLL Asset Beacon you will spearhead the development initiatives while managing a growing engineering team. Initially leading 2 engineers with plans for team expansion, you will oversee the full development lifecycle of applications within the platform. Your leadership will focus on building and enhancing both frontend and backend components that deliver comprehensive insights for commercial real estate asset management. You'll collaborate strategically with product teams and stakeholders to transform requirements into fully functional features, solve complex technical challenges, and ensure seamless user experiences. A key aspect of this role involves close collaboration with your counterpart team lead in the UK who manages a parallel engineering team to ensure consistent implementation and innovation across the global platform.

Beyond technical implementation, you will drive innovation through AI integration, identifying opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence across the platform to enhance functionality, automation, and data-driven decision-making. Your architectural vision and full-stack expertise will be instrumental in advancing the platform's capabilities while mentoring your team to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the evolving needs of the real estate industry.

Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Development
• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers

• Conduct regular code reviews, provide technical guidance, and support professional development of team members
• Manage planning, task allocation, and technical delivery timelines
• Stakeholder Management
• Represent the team in cross-functional meetings and planning
• Communicate technical constraints, opportunities, and progress to non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with internal developers and external partners to align on development
• Product Collaboration
• Coordinate closely with the product team to understand requirements and deliver solutions
• Develop features from conception through release with attention to user experience

• Database: SQL with ORM integration

• Educational Background: A STEM degree, preferably in Computer Science or Computing
• Professional Experience
• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering
• Strong full-stack experience
• Leadership Experience
• 2+ years in technical leadership positions
• Experience mentoring and developing technical talent
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• AI Focused:
• Vision for how AI can transform software capabilities and user experiences
• Practical experience integrating AI components into existing applications
• Understanding of AI development practices and limitations
