Laboratory Specialist

As a fast-paced, innovative biotech startup at the renowned Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center, Jerusalem, we are seeking an exceptional individual with a background in neurobiology to contribute to a groundbreaking project. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of scientific discovery, working with cutting-edge technologies like brain organoids, brain-on-a-chip, and AI to revolutionize drug discovery and development for neuropsychiatric disorders.

Responsibilities:

·        Develop and utilize Brain Organoids as a platform for drug discovery.

·        Establish and optimize protocols and assays for the development and characterization of Brain Organoids.

·        Lead and execute reprogramming of cells to induce pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).

·        Conduct tissue culture work with precision and attention to detail.

·        Electrophysiological measurements.

·        Independently design, execute, and analyze complex experiments.

·        Manage time effectively, ensuring efficient planning, execution, and reporting of experiments, along with thorough analysis of results.

·        Perform hands-on laboratory work, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Requirements:

• Ph.D./M.Sc. in Neurobiology / Brain science / Developmental biology, or related field.

• Hands-on experience with human iPSCs.

• Proficiency in molecular biology assays.

• Experience with brain organoids is a plus.

• Experience with electrophysiology is a plus.

•1-2 years of industry experience is advantageous.

• Strong ability to independently design, conduct, and analyze experiments, with proven

 expertise in method development and problem-solving.

• A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to 

 thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent English with the ability to write scientific reports and overviews.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on accurate documentation.
