Responsibilities:

• Lead and grow an existing team of product designers, providing mentorship, direction, and career development.
• Take ownership of Utila’s design function, building on what exists and scaling processes, systems, and practices.
• Guide the team in delivering a seamless end-to-end user experience across web, desktop, mobile, and browser extension.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing and Sales to ensure design has strong influence on company strategy and execution.
• Evolve Utila’s workflows to support growth and maintain quality at scale.
• Balance startup speed with the quality required for complex, security-sensitive fintech/crypto products.
• Represent design at the leadership level, being a strong voice in product and business decisions.
  
  

• 8+ years of experience in product design, with 2+ years in a leadership/management role.
• Proven track record leading design teams, managing people, setting processes, and delivering impact.
• Experience shaping and scaling design within an established product (B2B, complex systems preferred).
• Portfolio that demonstrates leadership across product design, and hands on experience with complex product flows.
• Strong people management skills: coaching, feedback, and developing designers’ careers.
• Ability to balance long-term vision with hands-on involvement when needed.
