Research Position – Joint Appointment (Sheba Medical Center)

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to join a unique collaborative research position shared between two laboratories at Sheba Medical Center:

• The Manor Lab (Metabolic Disease Unit, Edmond and Lily Safra Children’s Hospital) – focused on understanding orphan metabolic conditions using primary human tissue culture, molecular assays (qPCR, sequencing), and cutting-edge metabolomics to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for rare diseases.
• The Elgart Lab (Metabolite Discovery Unit, Bert W. Strassburger Metabolic Center) – focused on immune modulation in cardiovascular disease, with a particular emphasis on macrophage biology and foam cell formation, combining tissue culture with molecular and biochemical analyses.

Requirements:

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Medicine, or related fields
• Strong experience in mammalian tissue culture – mandatory
• Solid background in molecular biology techniques (e.g., qPCR, cloning, RNA/DNA/protein extraction) – mandatory
• Knowledge in immunology, macrophage biology, or metabolomics – advantage
• Strong teamwork and communication skills – mandatory
