An American high-tech company that developed one of the largest job search marketplaces in the U.S.

The company operates at massive scale millions of job listings, tens of millions of users and leverages AI to create smart matching between job seekers and employers.

1,200 employees worldwide, including 300 in R&D (around 100 in Israel).

Rapidly growing, with a major R&D center in Tel Aviv (next to a train line), working in a hybrid model of two days from home. Strong organizational culture focused on values and employee well-being.

About the Role:

Managing a flat group of 7 engineers working on Recommendation systems.
Team combines Backend, Data Science, and Machine Learning.
Engineering Manager–level responsibility (above Team Lead – not hiring Team Leads for this role).
Reports to the VP who leads the Israeli site.
Leading an experienced and mature group, with a focus on guiding them toward management maturity.
Requires strong system-level understanding and close collaboration with other development teams.
Includes a small hands-on component focused on design.
Emphasis on both technological and managerial leadership.
Tech stack includes Java, Scala, and Big Data. ML components are written in Python.

Requirements:

4 years of management experience must have led teams of 8–15 engineers.
10 years of total industry experience required.
Hands-on experience in Python / Java / Scala must have recent hands-on work from current or previous role.
Proven ML experience must include hands-on work on ML in production within the past 2 years.
Must have experience working in SaaS and Big Data environments.
