Director of Software & Algorithms

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Software & Algorithms Director to lead a multidisciplinary team in a cutting-edge defense-tech startup.

About the Role

You’ll lead a team of \~15 engineers (software, algorithms, flight control, AI, CV, UI, and validation) in designing and delivering mission-critical, semi-autonomous systems. You'll take part in building and scaling systems that are actively shaping the modern battlefield.

What You'll Be Doing

🔹Lead the full software and algorithm development lifecycle – from concept to deployment

🔹Manage and grow an elite multidisciplinary team

🔹Oversee design and implementation of AI-based image processing, flight control, navigation & guidance, and mission software

🔹Build hybrid simulation and validation environments

🔹Manage external vendors and subcontractors

🔹Collaborate with hardware, integration, and product teams

Qualifications

🔹7–10+ years of experience in software/algorithm development

🔹3–5+ years in a managerial role leading technical teams

🔹Background in real-time/embedded systems (C++, Python, ROS, RTOS, etc.)

🔹Experience with multi-disciplinary systems – a must

🔹Advantage: experience in defense and/or startup environments, Ardupilot, AI, CV, autonomous systems
