Junior Prompt Engineer

As a Junior Prompt Engineer (aka an LLM Whisperer) at Gong, you’ll play a key role in building features and capabilities powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, innovate through prompt design, and directly impact the future of Gong’s AI-driven product.

As a Junior Prompt Engineer, You Will

• Design clear, creative, and effective prompts that drive user-facing product experiences.
• Analyze prompt performance, write evaluations, run experiments, and use data to continuously improve quality.
• Extract and label data from Gong’s internal databases to build evaluation datasets for measuring prompt performance.
• Learn and master B2B jargon, domain concepts, and sales playbooks to optimize prompts for our users’ real-world needs.
• Partner with research, product, UX, and engineering teams to design features that address real user needs through AI.
• Troubleshoot and refine prompt behavior across diverse use cases.
• Dive into the fast-paced world of AI/ML with continuous on-the-job learning.
• Work with cutting-edge LLM technology that’s reshaping the future of work.
  
  

You Should Apply If You Have

• Native-level proficiency in English.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a strong command of language and attention to detail.
• Experience applying core machine learning concepts and evaluation metrics (e.g., accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score) in practical settings.
• Strong skills in data extraction and analysis, with a proven ability to uncover actionable insights from complex datasets.
• Familiarity with prompting techniques and prompt engineering best practices — a strong advantage.
• A creative, curious, and analytical mindset, with the ability to turn vague ideas into structured prompt designs.
• Business acumen and empathy, enabling you to understand user goals and perspectives.
