Position: Computing Engineer

School of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Job Description:

1. Operation and maintenance of computer systems and equipment in teaching and research laboratories, faculty computing equipment, and computer classrooms.
2. Installation, security, backup, and integration of software and databases across various systems.
3. Management and ongoing maintenance of the server farm, including Linux and Windows servers.
4. Providing support for faculty members, researchers, and students in hardware and software issues.
5. Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software malfunctions.
6. Assisting in the specification, development, and programming of software systems and websites.
7. Coordinating computing needs: defining requirements, managing inventory, and assisting with the procurement of computer hardware and related equipment.
8. Providing support and backup for the computing team at the school.
9. Performing additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
10. Reporting to the Computing Center Coordinator.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in natural sciences or engineering sciences, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
2. Two years of relevant experience.
3. Experience working with Linux and Microsoft operating systems at the system level.
4. Experience in managing storage systems.
5. Experience in virtualization and cloud computing management.
6. Preferred: Experience supporting CAD software in a Linux environment for Chip Design, such as Virtuoso, Cadence, Calibre, etc., and version control management.
7. Preferred: Experience in training or instruction.
8. Preferred: Experience in programming and developing system management tools using Shell/PHP, PowerShell, Linux Kernel, Perl, Python, or Bash.

תיאור התפקיד:

תפעול ותחזוקה של מערכות מחשבים וציוד במעבדות ההוראה והמחקר, ציוד מחשוב של חברי הסגל וכיתות מחשבים.

ביצוע התקנה, אבטחה, גיבוי והטמעה של תוכנות ומאגרי מידע במערכות השונות.

ניהול ותחזוקה שוטפת של חוות השרתים, כולל שרתי Linux ו-Windows.

מתן תמיכה לחברי הסגל, תלמידי מחקר וסטודנטים בנושאי חומרה ותוכנה.

איתור וטיפול בתקלות חומרה ותוכנה.

סיוע באפיון, פיתוח ותכנות מערכות תוכנה ואתרי האינטרנט.

תאום צרכי המחשוב: אפיון דרישות, ניהול מלאי, וסיוע ברכש חומרת מחשוב וציוד נלווה.

מתן סיוע וגיבוי לצוות המחשוב בבית הספר.

ביצוע מטלות נוספות בהנחיית הממונה.

כפיפות: מרכז/ת מחשוב.

דרישות התפקיד:

תואר אקדמי ראשון במדעי הטבע או במדעי ההנדסה, רצוי-במדעי המחשב, מתמטיקה, פיזיקה.

ניסיון של שנתיים בתחומים רלוונטיים.

ניסיון בעבודה במערכות הפעלה Linux וMicrosoft - ברמת system.

ניסיון בניהול מערכות אחסון.

ניסיון בניהול מערכות וירטואליזציה ומחשוב ענן.

רצוי-ניסיון תמיכה בתוכנות CAD בסביבת Linux לנושא Chip Design כמו Virtuos , Cadence, Calibre, etc ניהול גרסאות.

רצוי- ניסיון בהדרכה.

רצוי - ניסיון בתכנות ובכתיבת כלים לניהול מערכות,Shell/PHP, PowerShell, KernelLinux Perl, Python ,Bash.
