Title: Facilities Manager

Job Summary
As a Facilities Manager at La Casa Norte (LCN), you will play a crucial role in our mission to serve youth and families confronting homelessness. You will oversee LCN facilities and ground maintenance, provide management and oversight of daily operations, and ensure continuity, safety, and consistency. Key responsibilities include vendor and contract management, task scheduling, and managing a team of three to meet facility needs. This is a full-time exempt position working Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the capacity to flex time, occasional weekend hours for special events, and on-call responsibilities. It is an on-site position.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Building maintenance and management
- Efficiently oversee the preventive maintenance of assets, inventory tracking, and management.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of all LCN facilities, both inside and outside, including offices, conference rooms, parking lots, and outdoor spaces
- Plan and supervise internal facilities tasks, including HVAC filter replacements, repairs, painting, commercial kitchen hood upkeep, laundry equipment maintenance, grease trap, pest management, and all other building upkeep tasks.
- Oversee the coordination of facilities operations, encompassing maintenance and repairs, space allocation, parking, and office relocation.
- Prepare all facilities for changing weather conditions and adjust the facilities team duties accordingly.
- Coordinate with managers for donation pick-up and deliveries.
- Ensure the readiness of Pierce House, Solid Ground units, or rooms for incoming occupants as required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Arrange regular inspections with licensed vendors at LCN facilities, including elevators, balconies, HVAC systems, boilers (pressure vessels), fire extinguishers, smoke/carbon monoxide, fire safety building codes, grease traps, roofing, landscaping, and city inspections. Identify environmental issues as well.
- Coordinate a fire drill every six (6) months.
- Train management on security cameras and review footage for incidents as needed.
- Inspect building structures routinely to determine the need for repairs or renovations. Leadership and supervision
- Act as the first point of contact for urgent facility needs.
- Lead and manage facilities team, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, task assignment, scheduling, timecard management, and PTO approval.
- Stay up to date with building code requirements through workshops and training.
- Work with the Facilities and Asset Management Director to budget for facility needs.
- Submit a monthly credit card facilities expense report.
- Work with vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
- Act as the liaison for addressing and coordinating IT-related issues, collaborating with third-party IT service providers. This includes establishing technology requirements for new hires and managing the deactivation of tech resources upon employee termination.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet proficiency, and fundamental computer skills required.
- Valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance coverage, and daily access to a reliable vehicle.
- Experience working with youth experiencing homelessness, families, and individuals is desired.
- Willingness to embrace a diverse environment regarding race, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, and gender.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability to work flexible hours as needed, with regular and consistent attendance.
- Desire, creativity, and flexibility to work in a fast-growing nonprofit.
- Ability to lift/move 50-70 pounds.
