R&D Mechanic Engineer

Job Description:

Broadcom is looking for a Mechanical Engineer who can apply their expertise networking switch design to help develop solutions for the next generation advanced networking switch concepts as well as supporting legacy mechanic setups and improve them.

Responsibilities:

• Development of new products including execution on concept, design, drawings,
  
  

• Generate rapid prototypes
• Perform tolerance analysis of mechanical structures
• Perform thermal simulations to determine thermal resistances, power dissipation,
  
  

• The use of tools like Flotherm to generate models of complex electronic
  
  

• Technical background with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and least 10 years of relevant experience mechanical designs or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and least 10 years of relevant experience mechanical designs
• Proficient in mechanical design using CAD tools.
• Knowledge of how to design sheet metal, castings, injection mold parts material/vendor selection, and first article assessment.
• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills for frequent customer interaction.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively work within a team in cross-functional and geographically-distributed environments.
• Demonstrated ability to dynamically prioritize assignments and work independently
