Senior- Expert Mechanical Engineer

Strix Drones – Autonomous Drone-In-A-Box System is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to lead the end-to-end development of a multidisciplinary project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for characterizing requirements, defining specifications, designing solutions, and overseeing the full build process from concept to execution.

Job Description and Responsibilities

As part of Strix Drones, you will be involved in project management within the field of autonomous systems, focusing on multidisciplinary systems and mechanical design.

Key responsibilities include:

• Project Management – Overseeing the execution of projects, defining objectives, and focusing on integrated systems and mechanical design.
• Operational and Customer Requirements – Analyzing and identifying operational needs and customer requirements.
• Project Documentation – Preparing essential project documentation such as: Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly instructions, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), and more.
• Integration and Testing – Managing integration processes, performance evaluations, and usability testing as part of the product development cycle.
• Prototyping – Hands-on assembly and testing of prototypes.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 7 years of practical experience in mechanical design-E2E.
• In-depth knowledge of motion components and technologies, including motors, sensors, controllers, wiring assemblies etc.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing technologies and assembly processes.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD design, with expertise in SolidWorks.
• Experience in project management – a significant advantage.
• Basic knowledge of electronics – an advantage.
• Familiarity with the aviation industry – an advantage.
• USA visa or citizenship – an advantage.
