Senior Mechanical Engineer - 244824

A leading high-tech company in Jerusalem, operating in the Semiconductor and Optical Systems industry, is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer/ Technical Lead to join its R&D team.

📍 Location: Jerusalem (Hybrid - 4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

Opportunity to play a key role in the development of cutting-edge inspection and metrology systems for next-generation semiconductor and display technologies.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the design and development of high-precision mechanical systems (Precision Mechanics)

• Provide technical leadership to a team of mechanical engineers and external contractors, including goal setting, task planning, prioritization, and execution tracking

• Design and integrate complex opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies

• Develop calibration mechanisms, motion systems, automation, and precision robotics solutions

• Collaborate closely with optics, hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless system integration

• Conduct design reviews and lead verification, validation, and reliability activities

• Support NPI (New Product Introduction) processes and transfer designs from development to production

• Perform root cause analysis and drive resolution of complex engineering challenges

• Create and maintain mechanical designs, engineering drawings, BOMs, and PLM documentation using SolidWorks

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering

• 7+ years of experience in mechanical design and development of complex multidisciplinary systems

• Experience in the Semiconductor industry or advanced technological equipment

• Hands-on experience with opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical systems

• Strong background in precision mechanical design

• Proficiency with SolidWorks

• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and collaborate across multiple interfaces

• Willingness to travel internationally as required

Advantage:

• Experience with Inspection or Metrology systems

• Background in automation and robotics

• Familiarity with Optics, Silicon Photonics, or MicroLED technologies

• Experience working in Clean Room environments

• Leadership experience or technical management of engineering teams
