Project on High-Density Diffuse Optical Tomography (DOT) & Deep Learning
Our lab is excited to launch a cutting-edge research initiative combining High-Density Diffuse Optical Tomography (DOT) with Deep Learning to develop a powerful, non-invasive sensing and imaging platform.
Project Overview
Diffuse Optical Tomography (DOT) is an advanced imaging technique that uses near-infrared light to generate images of tissue function and structure. In this project, we aim to push the boundaries of DOT by integrating high-density sensor arrays and state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms.
Project Goals
•Development of Advanced Algorithms: Harnessing the power of deep learning to improve image reconstruction, noise resilience, and spatial resolution.
•Laboratory-Scale Hardware System: Building a robust and precise sensing system for real-time data acquisition and imaging.
Real-World Impact
One of the most promising applications of this technology is in monitoring brain health. Whether for tracking recovery in brain injury patients or detecting abnormalities such as tumors, our system provides continuous, long-term monitoring using safe optical signals, offering a level of accessibility and functionality that surpasses many existing solutions.

We are actively seeking exceptional students who possess a strong background in engineering and/or physics and are driven to make a significant difference in addressing pressing global challenges.
Required Qualification:
Candidates must hold an MSc or MTech degree (good merit or distinction) in Electrical, Electronics, Communication, Photonics, Engineering, and Physics, or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the MSc degree.
Required Skills:
•Expertise in Python or MATLAB
•Proficiency of English should be professional
•Sound Knowledge in Physics, Optics, Communication systems, Electronics and Mathematics
•Work flexibility required
