Engineering Manager

A startup company in the GenAI domain has developed a Generative AI-based platform for code testing and assistance for Software Engineers. They are building a complex AI-driven system to test and optimize existing code using advanced LLM models, GCP, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions.

Located in Tel Aviv near a train station, the company offers a hybrid work model with two work-from-home days per week.

The company has raised $51M, currently employs 50 people, and is experiencing significant growth, having doubled its team in the past year

About the role-

• The role reports to the VP of R&D
• Direct management of 8 senior developers (Frontend, Backend, Full Stack) working on AI and Machine Learning technologies
• 20%-30% hands-on development, currently evenly split between Python, TypeScript, and Java
• Team recruitment and mentoring
• Leading strategy and growth meetings with the VP of R&D
• Defining and implementing development processes and best practices
• Ownership over delivery, velocity, and quality of the R&D work

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing at least 6 engineers
• Previous experience as an Engineering Manager or R&D Manager
• 6 years of hands-on software development experience
• Experience with one or more of the following: Python, Go, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Kotlin
• Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP is a plus)
• Background in SaaS companies and/or startups
• Experience with AI/Machine Learning/Deep Learning products
