Scientist/Senior Scientist

We’re excited to expand our R&D team and are looking for a highly motivated Scientist to join us. Coltac is a preclinical-stage biotech company backed by leading VCs and based in Yavne. We are focused on the discovery and development of novel molecular glues, a rapidly growing modality, targeting key czzellular proteins.

🕒 Employment type: Temporary (6 months), 5 days a week, with the potential to transition into a long-term position.

General:

The ideal candidate would have a strong background in biological processes and vast hands-on lab experience working with bacterial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently design and execute experiments to explore bacterial responses to various treatments and conditions.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data and provide/implement process or document improvement.
• Develop and optimize bacterial culture techniques and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Write summaries and reports.
• Prioritize studies and activities to align with project goals and be responsible for timely project completion.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to advance research goals.

Requirements:

• PhD degree with at least 2 years of industry experience.
• Vast experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques such as cloning (must), Western Blotting and PCR.
• Ability to develop and implement new technologies.
• Ability to work according to plans and protocols.
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to design and execute complex experiments and data analysis.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
• Excellent teamwork and willingness to mentor other team members.
• High level of written and oral communication and report writing skills.
• Proven ability to drive innovation with a "can-do" attitude.

Advantageous:

• Experience in drug screening methodologies.
• Experience in assay development.
