About the Role

ShipIn is looking for a hands-on Shore Team Lead to head our Shore team – the team building our core product: a real-time SaaS platform that gives shore-based teams full visibility into what’s happening at sea. This is one of the most impactful roles at ShipIn, with direct influence on our product, our customers, and the future of the maritime industry.

As Shore Team Lead, you'll work closely with Product, DevOps, QA, Data and AI teams to shape a product that’s deeply connected to users' daily operations. You’ll lead a growing team of strong engineers (Backend & Frontend, Israel and offshore), own both feature development and platform evolution, and help define the engineering culture.

We’re looking for someone who’s a technologist at heart, excited by complex systems, passionate about building great development processes from the ground up, and committed to growing people as much as product.

You will:

• Lead development of a cloud-native full-stack product (Python, Rust, React) deployed on AWS.
• Drive product delivery end-to-end: new features, technical improvements, infrastructure ownership.
• Collaborate tightly with stakeholders across the company – Product, AI, Data, and more.
• Guide the team through Agile development, CI/CD, and trunk-based workflows.
• Build a strong, motivated engineering team: hiring, mentoring, and process building.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software development, with at least 2 years as a team lead (both managerial and hands-on).
• Strong experience with both Python and React (Rust is a major plus).
• Deep understanding of AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Proven ability to work with offshore developers and refactor legacy codebases.
• High-energy, excellent communicator, fluent in English, team-first mindset.
• BSc in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
